The Energy Efficient Lighting and Appliances (EELA) project hosted its flagship event, the Annual Stakeholder Forum, in Nairobi, Kenya, on March 29-30, 2023. The Forum brought together key stakeholders from the energy sector in East and Southern Africa, with lively and informative discussions on progress, policies, initiatives, and market potential related to energy-efficient lighting and appliances. The theme of this year's event was "EmPowering energy efficient appliances and greater livelihoods in EAC and SADC."
The event featured both in-person and online participation, and included plenary and parallel panel discussions on various topics such as policy, capacity building, clean cooling, productive use equipment, financing, and showcasing of selected projects. Participants included representatives of governments, private sector, donors, financial institutions, and other energy sector actors. More information from the sessions will be shared on the website on an ongoing basis.
