Accelerating Clean Industrial Technology Pathways to Strengthen Prosperity, Security and Stability in Africa

text
At IVECF 2026, EELA will highlight ICTP’s launch and new regional partnerships, showcasing its role in advancing clean tech, green industrialisation and just energy transitions across Africa.
09 April 2026

The 2026 edition of the International Vienna Energy and Climate Forum (IVECF) will convene global leaders in Vienna under the theme “Powering Prosperity, Security and Stability.” With a strong emphasis on implementation rather than aspiration, the Forum calls for actionable solutions that reduce inequalities, strengthen resilience, support just energy transitions, and accelerate green industrialisation worldwide.

Within this global agenda, the EELA Program and its flagship innovation, the Industrial Clean Technology Platform (ICTP), offer a concrete and scalable model aligned with IVECF’s goals. At the 2026 Forum, EELA will use the Deep-Dive platform to present not only its impact to date but also a set of pivotal next‑phase milestones. These include the official launch of the ICTP web‑based portal, the announcement of EELA’s expansion to the MENA region, and the anticipated signing of a Joint Declaration between UNIDO and the Swedish Energy Agency. Together, these developments directly connect to IVECF’s three core pillars: advancing energy-efficient industrial solutions, enabling emissions reduction and technology leapfrogging, and building localized clean‑tech ecosystems supported by regional cooperation and private‑sector mobilization.

As a strategic gathering, the Deep Dive session will serve as a platform to mobilise private-sector engagement, foster new donor partnerships, and position ICTP as a mechanism to accelerate just energy transitions and green industrialisation across Africa. It will bring together African and European industrial energy agencies, clean‑tech manufacturers, financiers, and partners from EELA Country Windows to showcase the program’s technological, social, and economic impact, while exploring pathways for scaling regional manufacturing ecosystems.
