EELA Webinar Series: Implementation of Regional EE Compliance Framework in the EAC
EELA is convening an East African Community (EAC)-focused webinar to build awareness and capacity on energy efficiency policy enforcement. The session will demonstrate how a comprehensive compliance framework, covering Measurement, Verification and Enforcement (MVE), market surveillance, and public procurement, can help EAC Partner States accelerate the uptake of efficient appliances and strengthen energy security across the region.
Webinar Objectives:
The main objective of the webinar is to create awareness and build capacity on enforcement of energy efficiency policies, standards, and energy efficiency in public procurement. Specific objectives of the workshop include:
- Raise awareness on energy‑efficiency policies, Measurement, Verification and Enforcement (MVE), and guidelines for efficient public procurement.
- Mobilise stakeholders to support implementation of the EAC Regional Compliance Framework and harmonised standards at national level.
- Explore regulatory strategies to expand markets for efficient appliances and promote sustainable livelihoods
Target Audience:
The workshop targets to raise awareness to key stakeholders from the following organizations:
- Ministries responsible for energy, industry, environment and finance
- Development Partners
- Standards bodies
- Customs bodies
- Energy regulators
- Civil society Organizations/Non-governmental organizations
- Private Sector
