The upcoming EELA webinar will focus on innovative strategies for industrial resource efficiency and collaboration. This session will explore how Industrial Urban Symbiosis can transform waste streams into valuable resources, fostering partnerships that optimize energy, water, chemicals, and materials. Beyond resource recovery, the webinar will highlight how collaboration in infrastructure, logistics, and expertise can drive sustainable industrial development.

Examples from Sweden will be presented, showcasing Industrial Urban Symbiosis, a collaboration that creates value from waste products in energy, water, chemicals, and materials, while also promoting increased cooperation in areas such as infrastructure, logistics, and expertise.

Keynote Speaker:
Mr. Bild Karl Lindblad, Sustainable Energy Expert from the Swedish Energy Agency, will share insights into the emerging field of Resource Efficient Sector Integration, a key approach to improving resource efficiency for greater energy efficiency. Although this area is still in its development phase within the Agency, it holds significant potential for reducing energy use across the Swedish energy system.

Mr. Lindblad will discuss the foundation of this work, which is based on the large untapped potential for energy savings, and highlight how various projects driven by entrepreneurs are already taking shape across Sweden. He will also explain how the Agency is exploring ways to scale these initiatives systematically, ensuring broader impact. The presentation will include concrete examples and an update on where the Agency currently stands on this important journey toward a more resource-efficient and sustainable energy system.

The webinar will be moderated by Mr. Denis Ariho, Lead Technical Expert at EACREEE and member of the EELA Team.
