Soumya Prasad Garnaik

<p class="rtejustify">During his 26+ years of professional career, Mr. Garnaik has served in Government, Bi-lateral and International organizations at various capacities in the field of energy policy, energy management, resource conservation etc. As Director in Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Ministry of Power, Govt. of India, he managed Perform, Achieve and Trade (PAT) scheme and Standard &amp; Labelling (S&amp;L) program of India. During his tenure as Deputy Director in National Productivity Council (NPC), India; Joint Director in Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce &amp; Industry (FICCI) and Principal in ICF International; he has guided, supervised and conducted over 70 major consulting assignments in India and abroad in the techno-policy area of energy efficiency, resource conservation &amp; management etc. At present, he is leading many portfolios in EESL handling project worth of Rs.1500 Crores (USD 250 mn) apart from many other responsibilities. He is also leading a prestigious Indo-Israel Industrial R&amp;D program. He also successfully led the South Asia Operations for EESL and generated ESCO markets in Thailand and Vietnam.</p>

<p class="rtejustify">Mr. Garnaik has been associated with international agencies like UN Organization, ADB, WB, GIZ, USAID etc. in various projects and initiatives. He was engaged by Chiang Mai University, Thailand as a Policy Expert in designing the “Energy Performance Certificate (EPC)” Scheme of Thailand. He also represented as Chair/Co-Chair/Member of various national and international committees in the field of energy efficiency including representing India in the ISO Technical Committee (TC)-257 at Paris and serving as focal point for Govt. of India in Clean Energy Ministerial.</p>

<p class="rtejustify">Mr. Garnaik holds the Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from Utkal University, India and Post Graduate in Plant Engineering from India’s National Productivity Council. He is a Certified Energy Auditor from Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Govt. of India, Certified from Efficiency Valuation Organization (EVO) as International Performance Measurement &amp; Performance Protocol (IPMVP) Professional and Certified Lead Auditor in ISO 18001.&nbsp;</p>

<p class="rtejustify">He has presented / published over 50 technical papers in various national &amp; international seminars, workshops, journals and websites. Mr. Garnaik has gone through advance training program on Energy Efficiency at Japan and USA.</p>
