Ms. Doreen Chipika Bwalya is a seasoned development professional with over 20 years of experience across government, donor-funded programmes, academia, and the private sector. She is passionate about advancing renewable energy, energy efficiency, climate resilience, and sustainable infrastructure to drive inclusive development and has delivered impactful initiatives across Zambia and the region.

She has led major assignments supported by USAID, FCDO, World Bank, AfDB, ILO, and SIDA. Her past roles have included managing the USAID-funded Zambia Electric Cooperative Development Program and the Gender Equity and Equality Action initiative to strengthen community-owned energy solutions and promote gender-responsive development, as well as driving off-grid solar policy and market growth as Country Manager for the FCDO-funded Africa Clean Energy Technical Assistance Facility. She also served as National Coordinator with the International Labour Organization on various programmes.

A Fulbright Scholar, she holds a Master’s in Environmental and Resource Engineering from the State University of New York (SUNY-ESF).
