Katharina Pröstler

Katharina Pröstler is a Senior Advisor on Gender, Youth and Social Inclusion and Project Coordinator at the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). She leads efforts to integrate gender equality, youth empowerment, and social inclusion into sustainable energy and climate initiatives, focusing on a just and inclusive energy transition. At UNIDO, Katharina has already coordinated projects on cleantech innovation, sustainable energy technologies, and climate change, and currently focuses on advising projects and programmes, such as EELA, on how to foster gender equality and social inclusion during their development and implementation.

Katharina has been key in the formation of the Gender Energy Compact and currently coordinates its implementation, a global multi-stakeholder platform with over 120 members.

Katharina holds a Master’s in Business Administration and Law and a MSc in Environmental Technologies and International Affairs. She has lived and worked across Europe, Asia, and Latin America, is a mother of two children, and mentors women and youth.
